Shunwolisa Dockery
I’m a Certified Life Coach, author, a licensed hairstylist, Realtor®, and Co-Owner of O. P. Doc Enterprise LLC, a trucking and logistics company. With a strong academic background in Business Administration, I have established myself as an incredibly ambitious entrepreneur. However, my life has always revolved around helping people, whether with words of encouragement, advice, and empowering those in need.
With over 23 years of experience as a hairstylist, I have interacted with thousands of women, which led me into discovering my empathetic and warm personality that encourages other women to confide and seek my advice about business and their personal lives. Most of the women I engage with eventually become very close, long-term friends. It is from my experiences interacting with people, coupled with my intense love for helping others, that motivated me to get the certification as a life coach and spurred me into authorship.
My debut book, Can We Be Friends? A Woman’s Guide To Building Loyal And Lasting Friendships draws inspiration from real-life experiences other people have shared with me and sought my advice. I purposefully wrote the book to inspire other women to feel good about themselves, pursue their goals, and unravel the power of friendship by enhancing friendships among them.
My love for helping people is deeply embedded in some of the struggles I have had to overcome to be where I am today. In college, I struggled as a teen mom and understand the pain and stress that other women in similar situations go through. In the past, I have partnered with the Central Arkansas Salvation Army to replenish supplies at their homeless shelter. My partnership with them began when I heard there was a shortage at the shelter, and I set a mission to make monthly donations of necessities such as detergents, baby wipes, diapers, etc. My mission attracted my friends and the community, and at one time, we received a uhaul truck full of goods donated to the shelter.
Currently, I seek to start a foundation to support single parents who are in college and between the age of 18-25. I will establish a mentorship program to guide and provide them with necessities to help make their years in college smoother. I know that my calling is to serve others, and I'm a proud member of the Delta Sigma Theta Inc. Sorority. I take delight in my strong reputation for my passion for service, being assertive, optimistic, and spiritual.
